Yes. A receipt will be e-mailed to you everytime you purchase more credits. You can also keep track of your lessons via our website and Skype.
  • Do you offer group lessons?

Yes; however, due to the difficulty of teaching multiple students at one session, an additional fee of $10 per hour for each additional student will be assessed. The students should all be at the same proficiency level in order for a group lesson to commence..
  • What is your policy on Group cancellations?

Group sessions can only be canceled if all students within the group agree to cancel the lesson. You must give a timely notice to your tutor when you intend to cancel a group lesson. If only one student within the group needs to cancel, he/she is expected to catch up before the next lesson to avoid interrupting the progress of the group. The student can choose to either catch up studying on his/her own, or he/she can also sign up for a make-up class. Make-up classes will be charged as a regular individual lesson.
  • How many students can attend a Group course?

A group can consist of anywhere between 2 and 4 students. We find that with large classes, tutors are unable to provide enough individual attention. Also the more numerous the group, the less time each student gets to practice what taught. Small groups or individual lessons grant better results.
  • How do I pay for my language lessons?

The course will commence as soon as your full payment is received. If you prefer to pay as you go, we require 2 lessons to be paid as a refundable deposit, payable via Paypal, by check (if drawn on an American bank), or by credit card. The course will start as soon as this is received. Please contact a coordinator for more information
  • What happens if I need to cancel my course?

The packages purchased are not refundable. The credits though, never expire. If you need to take a break, your credits will be frozen until you are ready to resume your lessons.
  • How can I monitor my credits?

You can log into your account at any time to view credit and package information.
  • How many class hours are equal to 1 credit?

1 Credit is equal to 1 class hour.
  • How many lessons will I require?

This will depend on your initial proficiency level, and learning requirements. We recommend taking no less than 20 lessons to see significant results. You are also free to take classes and pay as you go.
  • How do I know my level?

Your language skills will be assessed by a tutor during your trial lesson. An assessment of other languages can also be provided. Please contact us for more information. Please see the following chart to determine your level:

Beginner Elementary Lower Intermediate Intermediate Upper Intermediate Advanced
A Beginner cannot understand or speak the language. True or complete beginners have had no prior exposure to the language, whereas false beginners have had some past experience with the language (via the media, school, or other venues). An Elementary learner understands the basic level of the language. This includes common words, structures, and sentences. They can, however, read and understand a bit more than they can actually produce. At this level, the Lower Intermediate learner understands the language fairly well. He/She can speak it in familiar situations, understands the language construction, and has a reasonable vocabulary. The learner can also read a decent amount of the language, but may find writing challenging. Intermediate learners can speak the language well, but are still not 100% fluent in it. They can understand most of the verbal language, but mistakes are pretty common. They can also read the language quite well, and can write segments of it using common sentences and patterns. Upper Intermediate learners can understand nearly every aspect of the verbal and written language. They can speak the language with confidence, even in unfamiliar situations, and the standard of their writing is quite high. An Advanced Learner can communicate clearly, and is effective in both aspects of the verbal and written language. Their mastery of listening and reading is good, however, occasional errors and misunderstandings may occur.

This P2P chat program is compatible with PC, Mac, and Linux. Skype is also equipped with high quality voice interaction, file storage, and the ability to track and review your lessons. You can also communicate with your tutor via e-mail or via request at the website. For more information on Skype, please visit: www.skype.com.
  • Will the same tutor be available for the duration of the course?

  • What if the tutor and I don’t get along?

This is usually not an issue, but if you and your tutor cannot work together, we will do our best to arrange a suitable replacement at no additional charge. We will facilitate your requests in a timely manner and we are here to make your learning experience as productive as possible.
  • What if I have a scheduling issue on the same day a lesson is to take place?

We can postpone any class for a more convenient time, at no extra cost to you. This, however, will depend on your tutor’s schedule and availability. If your tutor cannot postpone your lesson, and you are unable to make it for the scheduled time, the 24 hour cancellation rule will apply.

If you need to put your course on hold, please notify your tutor and one of our coordinators. Your credits will be frozen until you are ready to start your lessons again.
  • What happens if my Internet goes down or I lose my connection?

You are responsible for making sure that your Internet connection is up to date and running properly. If your connection fails during a session, you will lose that particular lesson, and no make up course will be granted.
  • What if I forget my user name or password?

If you forget your password, please click on the Forgot Password button. If you are still unable to retrieve your password, please call Customer Service at 619-866-4746 or e-mail us at customerservice@MyLanguageLounge.com so that your password can be reset.
